Colorado Public Lands Day – “Feel the Burn” Interpretive Mountain Bike Ride

Celebrate Colorado Public Lands day by learning about forest health. Join SJMA and the Dolores Watershed Resilient Forest Collaborative for an educational mountain bike ride through Boggy Draw. Rolling through ponderosa pine forests, we’ll learn some of the common plants, how these forests are adapted to wildfire, about the goals and effects of management activities like prescribed fire and thinning, and about the large-scale efforts underway to protect and restore these forests.

When: May 15, 2021 from 10:00am – 1:00pm

Where: Main Boggy Draw Trailhead

Ability Level: Beginner, Beginner/Intermediate

Distance & Route: Maverick Trail, ~6 miles

What to Bring: A tuned mountain bike, helmet, plenty of water, sunscreen, and snacks

Cost: Free, $10 donation encouraged
