Protect Ice Lakes this summer!
This summer, SJMA is thrilled to continue placing volunteer ambassadors at the Ice Lakes trailhead. As we know, Ice Lakes has incredibly high visitation in the summer months and has seen impact to the landscape due to the crowds. Volunteers will spend time at the Ice Lakes trailhead, talking with people as they arrive, and head onto the trail to chat with hikers. Ice Lakes volunteers will learn how to kindly & effectively communicate LNT, safety, and responsible recreation information to visitors. As a volunteer, you can have a powerful impact on the way our National Forest visitors experience and enjoy this treasured place.
This training will be outside at the Junction Creek Campground day use area. Please reach out (MSaunders@SJMA.org) if you’d like to be involved but are not available at this date/time.
