For the first time ever, join SJMA, Mountain Studies Institute, local experts and winter athletes for a special winter education series, “Après Ski Science & Social”. After you play in the mountains, meet us at SJMA’s Outdoor Research tiny house at Andrew’s Lake parking area to learn about forest health, watersheds, climate change, and the future of snowpack in the San Juans.
Hiking will start at 2:00 pm, so be geared up and ready to go by then. SJMA staff will be at the Andrew’s Lake parking area by 1:30 pm to provide snowshoes to anyone who needs a pair. Hikers will return to the parking area at 4:00 PM and are welcome to stay for a hot beverage, bonfire, and good company. Registration required.
