Lisa McClure

Board Member: At-Large

Lisa has lived and worked in the San Luis Valley outside of Del Norte for 30 years. In 2019, she retired from the Rio Grande National Forest as their lead Wilderness Ranger and Trails Lead for non-motorized trails. She is still contracting with the Forest Service as a mentor and resource advisor. She wants to continue to be involved in the interaction between forest users and how the Forest Service manages the wildernesses in Southern Colorado.

Lisa is excited to be a board member of SJMA. Like SJMA, who support the land agencies, she still fees that she can give some of the agencies’ prospective and input to the board for the San Luis Valley. She has been involved with SJMA through the Forest Service, with many of the organizers and members since 1997, doing projects and asking for the organization’s help with wilderness projects.

Since retirement, Lisa has been enjoying her greenhouse and gardening, riding her horses and packing the mules, and hiking. She is hoping to do some traveling with her husband in the near future, and spend more time with her family and grandkids.
