Map of Manti-LaSal Nat’l Forest, Utah, Moab & Monticello Districts, by US Forest Service
The present Monticello District of the Manti-La Sal National Forest came into being through a consolidation. The original Monticello Federal Reserve, established by petition in February 1907, was later combined with the LaSal Reserve on July 2, 1908, and finally combined with the Manti Forest on November 28, 1949. These combinations created the current configuration of the Manti-La Sal National Forest.
