Maya Leib-Perry

Education Specialist

Maya grew up in Tuba City, Arizona and later moved to Flagstaff, Arizona for high school. During that time she had many opportunities to explore the four-corners region by hiking, camping and rafting. Tired of the dry climate, she spent her four years of college studying Biology at Lewis & Clark College in Oregon. Many of her classes took her along the Oregon coast and the Old Growth forests of Oregon and Washington, beginning Maya’s passion for environmental science. It is for this reason that Maya was drawn to SJMA, and became an educator of the natural sciences for elementary age students in La Plata and Montezuma county. When she isn’t working, Maya likes hiking, skiing, biking and any other type of outdoor adventure.
