If you are interested in volunteering your time, we have lots of opportunities to do so, from promoting leave-no-trace-principles to hands-on stewardship to cultural documentation.

DID YOU KNOW?
Each year, SJMA volunteers work thousands of hours to improve Southwest Colorado’s public lands by conducting wilderness stewardship outreach in the backcountry, performing restoration projects, providing visitor information, adopting and caring for Forest Service roads and documenting archeological sites.

SJMA is helping to cultivate the next generation of conservationists by providing public school teacher trainings, service learning projects, and student field trips to local forests and watersheds. Since 1996, SJMA has organized an Alternative Spring Break for University of Missouri Students to perform service projects on Bureau of Land Management lands in Southwest Colorado.
