Rachelle Fish

Communications Director and Visitor Information Specialist

Rachelle Fish’s love for the outdoors began as a child, as she was lucky enough to grow up visiting Yosemite and the Sierras frequently with her family. This love followed her from California to Tennessee to Michigan. It was the sole reason Colorado became her home in 1999, immediately after graduating from University of Michigan with a degree in Chemical Engineering.   After some soul searching, she found the best way to combine her love for the environment and her engineering career was to help develop new renewable energy technologies. During those many years, she explored all that Colorado had to offer, but quickly realized that her heart belonged to Southwest Colorado. Her “Durango dream” of moving her family closer to the San Juan Mountains finally came true in 2015. Now she is excited to not only enjoy the beauty of the San Juan Mountains with her husband and two kids, but to be part of the effort to conserve it. She is a nature photographer, a zealous hiker/ backpacker/camper and an enthusiastic supporter of SJMA.
