Join SJMA and Colorado Fourteeners Initiative (CFI) on a trail project at Mt. Sneffels!
Gorgeous fall views, teamwork, free volunteer dinner, and an excuse to spend a Monday in the mountains – what more could you want?
This volunteer trail restoration project will cap at 15 participants, so sign up ASAP! We’ll be working on the lower part of the trail up Mt. Sneffels, doing rock work and restoration of the alpine tundra.
CFI completes trail projects across the state of Colorado 14ers each summer & fall to make sure our 14er trails are maintained and in good shape. As a volunteer, you’ll help support this work on a small team and spend an amazing day in the mountains.
When: August 26, 2024 from 6:30am, 8 hour project
Where: Mt. Sneffels Trailhead. We’ll be camping as a group near the trailhead and hiking up 2 miles or less to our work site on the trail. Meet us at the campsite on Sunday night, August 25th for group dinner. We’ll start our day on August 26th at 6:30AM with breakfast and then a safety talk at 7AM before hiking up to the trail where we’ll work for 8 hours.
Details: Volunteers on this project should be prepared to carry a pack & tools up to 2 miles, move large rocks as a group, work for up to 8 hours, and be prepared for a range of weather conditions including cold temps or storms. No training required! Bring a friend (or 2)!
