Forest Service Road Conditions
Starting October 22, 2025, visit the San Juan National Forest Road Conditions webpage for the most current information on the San Juan National Forest road, trail, and infrastructure status.
Hazardous road conditions are present on many middle to high elevation roads on the Columbine and Pagosa Districts of the San Juan National Forest due to recent heavy rain and flooding.
Please use extreme caution when travelling on San Juan National Forest roads this fall.
Barricades with road closed signs designate roads that are now closed due to damage by the storm. Gates have not been closed and locked at this time to allow campers, hunters and outfitters to exit the Forest after their stay.
Please respect road closures indicated by barricades. Travel on these roads is unsafe and may further damage road infrastructure affected by flood waters.
