Heather Distad

Heather is an enthusiastic, skilled fundraiser and community organizer with over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit, conservation, and recreation fields. Having overseen community recreation programs, philanthropy teams, and organizational strategies, she has put her skills to work for nonprofits like Access Fund, Friends of the Colorado Avalanche Information Center, and Big City Mountaineers. She currently serves as the Executive Director for Outdoor Mindset, as well as consults organizations on their strategic and fundraising initiatives.
Since moving to Durango from Breckenridge four years ago, Heather has spends as much time as she can in the San Juan Mountains with her partner, Eric, and their loving dog, Miles. She enjoys spending time with her Midwest family, photography, travel, backcountry skiing, climbing, and all-things single-track!
