Kelly DeFaye

Visitor Information Coordinator / Rio Grande National Forest, Del Norte Office

Kelly grew up in the San Luis Valley, with the Rio Grande National Forest in her backyard.  She left the area for a while, earning her engineering degree and living abroad for a few years, but her roots called her back home to the Valley (as the locals call it).

From working on the small family farm as a teenager to most recently appraising real estate in the area, Kelly has always felt strong ties to the land and natural resources we are so fortunate to be entrusted with.  She’s looking forward to being a part of the San Juan Mountains Association’s mission to protect our wild lands.

You can find her here, spending time with her family and pets, and if she’s lucky, she’ll be on her dirt bike on a mountain trail somewhere in the aspens.
