Human Waste Bags

Due to the increase of visitors to our backcountry, we strongly encourage you to bring a human waste bag, as known as RESTOP or WAG bags.

Below is a Leave No Trace video, explaining what you should pack in your ‘poop kit’.

Never used a human waste bag? Well, like all other things in life, practice makes perfect. Generally, you place the bag on the ground, using a few small rocks to hold it in place (no one wants a poorly timed gust of wind to send the bag flying) and poop directly into the bag. Place the toilet paper inside the bag, close the inner bag and seal the outer bag – getting as much air out of the bag as possible for easier storage.

Check out this short video explaining how to properly use these human waste bags.
